Brutus Monroe Hop - Color Crush: Cozy Christmas

Image
Hi crafty friends! This week the inspiration team had a color challenge to use this photo for color inspiration: I loved the colors at the two opposite ends, the deep cranberry and the teal. They very closely match the Brutus Monroe colors Marsala and Oz. I stamped the pine branch from the Merry & Bright stamp set using Oz surface ink , all the way around the edge of the card. I then heat embossed a few more branches with embossing ink and heat set it with Gilded EP. I stamped the "Joy" sentiment from the Merry & Bright stamp set also with embossing ink and set it with Gilded EP. I squished the Marsala surface ink down onto an acrylic block, and used a fine-tipped paintbrush to pick up the ink and make the little berry dots. I popped the whole card front up with foam tape and matted it on Marsala cardstock . I added a few sequins and a few tiny dots of gilded glitter drops around the card to finish it off. Brutus Monroe Hop - Glitter Glaze!

Image
Hi crafty friends! Para la versión en español, ¡ haz click aquí ! I had the hardest time choosing what projects to use for this hop, which showcases the Brutus Monroe glitter glaze ! I have a TON of projects with it, and I really really love it. I own all the colors, and I subscribe to their glitter glaze of the month club as well. I can't get enough! The glitter glaze of the month club is 8.00 shipped, and you'll get an exclusive color sent straight to your door every month! For the first project, I used the colors Berry and Glacier, which is the November glitter glaze color of the month! It's a really gorgeous icy blue color. To make the ombre background, I take a little scoop of each color and mix it together on my glass mat to make a transitional color. This helps create a smoother flow between colors and no obvious lines. I taped my Snowflake stencil to the Alabaster cardstock panel using purple tape , and began to spread the darkest color Berry along the b...

Brutus Monroe Hop: Shake It Up!

Image
Hi crafty friends! Thanks for hopping along with the Brutus Monroe inspiration team for our shaker card theme! I love shaker cards. Once you get the hang of it, they are not too difficult, and they always wow the recipient! The new Brutus Monroe foam tape is nice and thick, so it leaves a lot of room for your shaker elements to move around. My card for this hop has the trifecta of shine: glitter glaze, foiling and heat embossing! I started out with a piece of plain Alabaster cardstock , and stenciled snowflakes all over it with Gold Glitter Glaze . I did let that dry overnight, since I was planning to run it through my die cutting machine. The last time I got a little impatient to die cut something with glitter glaze, it was still tacky and got all over my cutting plates! But if you can hold out an hour or so it should be completely fine. I cut down one of the "loopy" clear toner sheets  and ran it through my Minc machine with some Therm-o-Web Champagne foil . I have ...
