It's a blog hop Wednesday for the Brutus Monroe inspiration team, and we're sharing projects made with some of the subscription items for the month of August. The inspiration box for this month is Steampunk themed, and has some amazing pieces in it! For this project, I stamped this gorgeous balloon on a panel of Lunch Bag cardstock with Raven detail ink. I used a white gel pen to add some accents and make it pop against the cardstock. I splattered some black paint across the background as well. Then I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the previous Rock On inspiration box onto the Lunch Bag cardstock as well with Raven detail ink, and used scissors to fussy cut around the words. I popped them up with foam tape on the card front, and then matted the whole panel first on Alabaster cardstock and then Raven cardstock. Hello crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by. It’s another Brutus Monroe blog hop Wednesday and we’re sharing some Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). These are small sets of cards, usually 4x3, that crafters and artists make and trade! I started by trimming down pieces of aqua pigment paper to 3x4. I dripped aqua pigments one drop at a time onto the paper, and I squeezed the air blower to push the droplets around the panels. I used Green and Rhubarb for the watermelon, Rhubarb and Yellow for the flamingo, and Yellow and Green for the pineapple. I prepped all of the chipboard pieces by brushing a layer of white gesso over the surface and allowing it to dry. For the flamingo, I painted it with the Rhubard and Yellow aqua pigments, and then used Raven glitter glaze on the beak, and raspberry glitter glaze for the wing and tail. For the pineapple, I spread Lime glitter glaze on the frond on the top and then I used yellow aqua pigment on the body of the fruit. For the watermelon, I paint...

Hello crafty friends! It's another Wednesday blog hop day for the Brutus Monroe inspiration team and I'm sharing this project made with the stamp set from the June inspiration box! I have been super inspired by the cards that our guest designer Tessa Reed made; she used a lot of black and white and it was so striking! I started with a scrap of black woodgrain paper that I used as the background of this card. I used some of the new media paste through a stencil on various areas of the paper and allowed it to dry. While it was drying, I stamped the guitar,  record and words onto a piece of Alabaster cardstock with Raven detail ink, and fussy cut them all out. When the media paste was dry, I adhered all of the fussy cut pieces with foam tape. I filled in the empty areas with a few of the music note stamps, stamped with the Raven detail ink. Hello crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by today! It's Wednesday which means blog hop day for the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team. This week we are showcasing different subscription items for the month of June. I chose to use the stamp of the month and the stencil of the month, and the sentiment from the inspiration box. I hope it doesn't make you too dizzy! For this card, I started with a panel of Alabaster cardstock and I used the stencil of the month with Raven ink over the top to make the background. Then I die cut the frame from Raven cardstock and lined it with foam tape. I heat embossed the cassette tape 8 times onto Raven cardstock with Alabaster powder. After fussy cutting around the shapes, I arranged them around the edges of the frame, leaving some hanging over the side. I secured them with pieces of foam tape, and then trimmed the parts that were hanging off the edge. I used the trimmed off pieces to fill in some of the spaces around the frame and glued ...

Hello crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's Wednesday, which is hop day for the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team. This was an "anything goes" week, so we were free to do whatever we wanted! My project, to be honest, started out as a total hot mess! I used the branches from this month's inspiration box titled "Feathered Friends". The stamp set is really cute! It actually has a bird and birdcage theme, but I wanted to keep it simple and make a card with the branches.  So I started by stamping the branches around the edge of an aqua pigment paper panel (say that five times fast!) with Raven detail ink. I have been watercoloring a lot lately, but I typically heat emboss the image, which will contain the paint a lot, so this was where I went a little bit wrong. I mean, there's nothing WRONG with painted a stamped image, but since I'm used to the heat embossed images, the first leaves I painted flowed right outside the lines because I...
