Hello crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! It's Wednesday, which means Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team blog hop day, and guess what? It's my last blog hop with the Brutus Monroe team. I've been with the team for over a year now, and I'll be moving on after this week. It's been a great experience and I've learned so much! The theme for this hop is "Sequins", so we've each created a project featuring some of the new Prism sequins. I started out by stamping the butterfly three times in Raven detail ink onto some Alabaster cardstock. I colored the wings with Zig markers and then cut the wings out individually. I ran a black marker around the edges of the wings, which gives cut images a more polished look. I used small slices of foam tape towards the outer edges of the wings and liquid glue in the inner area, so that the inside would sit flush with the paper and the outer edges would be popped up, giving the illusion of the wings f...

Hello crafty friends! Thanks for dropping by today. It's blog hop Wednesday for the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team and the theme is "Anything Goes" so we had free rein to create whatever we wanted! This card came together fairly quickly. As usual, I can't get enough of the aqua pigments. I used Orange-Yellow, Magenta and Blue brushed across a panel of aqua pigment paper, and dried it with a heat tool before adding another layer. I splattered some of the Yellow-Orange and Magenta on the background when it was dry. Then I heat embossed the butterflies with Alabaster EP onto aqua pigment paper and painted the same colors over it. I fussy cut the butterflies and slightly bent them in the middle for a 3D effect. I took some of the watercolor paper flowers and the plain white paper flowers and used hot glue to adhere them to the card front, along with the butterflies. Hello crafty friends, thanks for stopping by my blog. Today for our blog hop day, I have a fun interactive card to share with you, using two of the newer stamp sets from Brutus Monroe. To make this card, I followed a tutorial for the basic shape by Jennifer McGuire. You can find the video here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swv8AquXd1E&t=418s I used Midnight cardstock for the base, which is a lovely dark blue shade, and Gilded glitterstock for the inner gold oval layer. To make the cloud background, I first heat embossed the "Spiral Cloud" background stamp with Gilded EP onto aqua pigment paper. I mixed Blue and Black aqua pigments together to make a dark blue shade and painted several layers onto the panel. The gold heat embossing acts as a resist for the aqua pigments. I trimmed that panel down after drying it and adhered it to the back panel of the Midnight cardstock. Then, I heat embossed two of the butterflies from the "Take Flight" stamp set ...
