Hello crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's Wednesday, which is hop day for the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team. This was an "anything goes" week, so we were free to do whatever we wanted! My project, to be honest, started out as a total hot mess! I used the branches from this month's inspiration box titled "Feathered Friends". The stamp set is really cute! It actually has a bird and birdcage theme, but I wanted to keep it simple and make a card with the branches.  So I started by stamping the branches around the edge of an aqua pigment paper panel (say that five times fast!) with Raven detail ink. I have been watercoloring a lot lately, but I typically heat emboss the image, which will contain the paint a lot, so this was where I went a little bit wrong. Hello crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Today is another Wednesday Brutus Monroe blog hop, and our assignment was to use this gorgeous picture as color inspiration for a project! My project today was one of those cards that did NOT turn out how I originally intended! Over the course of a couple days it morphed into a tall, odd-dimension creation. I started out by using the stencil of the month on an Alabaster cardstock panel, and blending Sunflower and Lime glitter glazes in an ombre. Then I decided I wanted the pink and orange tones instead, so I made another separate panel with Raspberry, Pumpkin, Tangerine and Sunflower. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to use, and ended up attaching them so that the color blending went all the way from pink to green! Hi crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. The Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team's assignment this week was to showcase the Brutus Monroe dies. I chose to use a word die and a hexagon die! I started with two piece of Alabaster cardstock, one for the card front and one for die cutting. Using the "Hello" word die, I ran it through my die cutter 6 times. I started with the "Hello" towards the top right, because I wanted to make sure there was at least one complete word on the background. I positioned all the rest around it in diagonal lines. I glued them down with a fine-tipped applicator, but if you have the double sided adhesive sheets, they would work great for this project! I let some hang off the edges and trimmed them down at the end. I popped it up on a slightly larger piece of Alabaster cardstock with foam tape.  I stamped the cacti with Raven detail ink, and colored them with my Zig markers, and fussy cut them out. Hi crafty friends! Thanks for joining me today. The theme for this week's Brutus Monroe inspiration team blog hop is "Monochrome". So we had to create projects using one color! I chose to use the Midnight cardstock, and the floral stamp from the "Conservatory of Quotes" stamp set. I stamped the floral image around the edges of the cardstock in embossing ink, and heat embossed them with Icicle (clear) embossing powder. When heat set, it almost looked black! Then I die cut the "Hello" five times, also from midnight cardstock, and adhered them together with glue. I used the eclipse technique, where I also die cut it from the center of the card and inlaid the thick layered word, but because the cardstock is the same color, I realized that I could have skipped this and just glued it to the center of the card panel! I popped the whole panel up on a slightly larger piece of Midnight cardstock, and finished it off with some clear acrylic drops. Have you ...
